Technique Tuesday: Bokeh

Bokeh in Japanese means "blur." It is a photography technique that has one clear focal point with the rest of the background out of focus. Bokeh is now taking the stamping world by storm.

There are several different ways to achieve the blurred Bokeh effect. I chose to use my decorative masks and gently rub the ink over them with a sponge dauber. The lighter the touch, the more blurry the effect.

  • Hello Honey card base - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
  • Cherry Cobbler layer - 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Very Vanilla layer - 3-3/4" x 5"
  • Stars & Hearts Decorative Masks
  • Hello Honey, Soft Suede, Always Artichoke inks
  • 3 Sponge Daubers
  • Another Thank You photopolymer stamp set
  • Versamark ink
  • Cherry Cobbler embossing powder
  • Heat Tool
