Flowering Sketch

It's time to get creative with the monthly card sketch at SSINKspiration. You will definitely want to go over and check out the variety of ways that the design team was INKspired by this sketch.

Even though fall is my favorite time of year, and I'm anxious for it to get here; I'm having a hard time letting go of the bright colors of summer.

This card features a Rich Razzleberry base with a layer of Designer Series Paper from Confetti Celebration. I stamped the "hello" from Endless Birthday Wishes in Rich Razzleberry, directly on to the DSP.

My favorite part of this card is the flowers. I cut three flowers out of Baja Breeze with the Floral Frames Framelits. To give them some added texture, I used my bone folder to curl them from both sides. This technique breaks down the fibers of the cardstock, allowing you to peel the layers apart. What you are seeing on this card is the inside of one of the layers. One of the many reasons that I love Stampin' Up! cardstock and the fact that it is dyed all the way through.

For the center of the flowers, I got out my Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks, along with a scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock and Tangerine Tango ink. I used a sponge dauber to fill in three of the dots on the mask. Then I used my 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch to punch them out. Perfect!

The grand finale for this card was to layer a piece of Early Espresso cardstock behind the flowers to give them a little more "pop."

As always, pin it if you love it. Remember to play along with our sketch by linking up at SSINK, and tagging your project with #ssinkcs12 anywhere that you post it!

Project Life Birthday

If you follow my Twitter or Facebook feeds, you may have seen that I started playing with my new Project Life by Stampin' Up! products a couple days ago. The pages that I started on are still in need of a little journaling and embellishment, so I'm not quite ready to show them off here.

Some of you might be familiar with Becky Higgins and the Project Life line. Stampin' Up! announced a month or so ago that they have partnered with Becky to offer an exclusive line of Project Life products, SU! style!

One of the coordinating card collections, accessory packs, and a few more items are available for order now. Trust me when I tell you, there are many more options coming June 2nd, and I can't wait to get my hands on them!

As I don't take many pictures, I know I'll never use all of the cards that come in all of the packs I want to order. So...I will use them on cards!

This quick and easy card uses a Melon Mambo cardstock base, with two of the cards from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collection. I stamped the 'happy, happy birthday' in Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay ink. Do those stamps look familiar? They are from the Endless Birthday Wishes I featured yesterday!

Project Life. It's for more than just scrapbooking!

Endless Birthday Fun!

I know I should be playing more with the retiring items, since they aren't going to be around much longer. However, I'm just too excited about the new stuff that Stampin' Up is releasing that I've got to play with the new!

I know I keep teasing you with the new products that are being released June 2nd. Guess what? The stamp set that I used today can be purchased NOW! It's a brand new photopolymer set they released last week; and yes, I ordered it the day it came out!

Adorable, right? I fell in love with the fonts even more as I was stamping with it.

The cakes were stamped with the new Momento Ink pad that I recommend you use with the Blendabilities. The cake stands were colored with the Basic Grey marker; while the cakes were colored with all three shades of the Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities. I added a little Dazzling Details to the candles to make them shine.

The words were all stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink. The card base is one of the new 2014-2016 In Colors called Tangelo Twist. The circle is the new Hello Honey cardstock. The layer behind the focal point is my "old" favorite, Coastal Cabana.

If you look really close, you might notice that the Dazzling Details is still wet in this picture. I was humming along, happy with what I was making, that I didn't think about drying time. Then I was stuck with, "how am I going to assemble this?" I built my card from the bottom up! It's just as possible to put the SNAIL on the bottom layer and place the top down on it, as it is to adhesive up the back of the top layer! (Yes, I did just take creative license to use adhesive as a verb!)

I highly recommend purchasing Endless Birthday Wishes as soon as possible if you love it. These monthly photopolymer sets that are released are only while supplies last. This set is very similar to Endless Wishes that was released last fall; and it sold out very quickly. I anticipate this one will as well.
