Stamp Set Focus: Just Sayin'

Hello there! This stamp set must have been made for me, I'm always saying, "just sayin'." So it's a surprise that I didn't own this set. It is available as a digital download for My Digital Studio, so I own it now!

There really are so many great things you can do with this set, and there are even coordinating framelits to go with it so you don't have to fussy cut your sayings. If you're going the digital route, the framelits are "punches" as you will see on my project.

Ever since I got my new camera, Abby has become more willing to have her photo taken. This is one of her favorite spots to sleep: inside the curtain in a west facing window in the late afternoon.

Here is a list of all supplies used in MDS. Don't forget to click the SSINK image below for more great projects. I'm "just sayin'!"

3,2,1: Flowers!

Does anyone else remember 3-2-1 Contact!? That's what I thought of when I did my title. My husband (who is a young pup) now thinks I'm crazy.

Today at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration we have a 3, 2, 1 challenge. Use 3 Designer Series Paper patterns, 2 punches, and 1 stamp. This is the second time we've had this challenge in our 1.5 years and it always seems more daunting than it is.

Because I had my HUGE stack of DSP in front of me and couldn't decide which I wanted to use, I let the gals from the design team challenge me and pick the three packs I had to choose from. Donna and Bree sure gave me a run for my money, and I used patterns together I wouldn't have picked on my own; but I really love them! I love the DT ladies too; they are pretty awesome gals!

  • Old Olive cardbase - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" - scored at 4-1/4"
  • Stacked With Love DSP - 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Flowerpot DSP
  • Typeset Speciality DSP
  • Mosaic punch
  • 1-1/4" Scallop Circle punch
  • A Round Array stamp set
  • Memento Black ink
  • Vintage Faceted Buttons
  • Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

Masculine Monday

Thankfully I remembered that my dad's birthday is in a couple weeks, so I had a subject for my Masculine Monday card this month.

As I was going through my alphabet sets, they were all too big for the space I wanted to stamp them on. Project Life Accessory Packs to the rescue!

SSINKLS19: Layout Sketch

This sketch that Jenn created for the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Design Team challenge was really fun, easy to create with and very inspiring for me!

There are two things I take pictures of regularly. My projects and the cat. Bet you can't guess which of those I decided to use on my layout! :)

If you are equally inspired by this sketch, we'd love to have you join us by playing along at SSINK!

Envelope Punch Board Card

I believe that I've only made two actual envelopes with my Envelope Punch Board. However, I LOVE all of the other fabulous projects you can make with it!

I found the idea for this card on Pinterest. (Yes, I do more that just pin a million things!) Here is the card I created with the idea, as well as a tutorial for the jar.

To start with, you need a 3" x 4" piece of DSP, as well as a 5/8" x 21/4" piece of coordinating paper. I was going to use Vellum, and then changed my mind.

On the 4" side, you will line the "top" of the jar up with the right edge of the arrow on the punch board (fig. 1). Punch. Then flip the paper over and repeat on the other side. Use the corner rounder on the punch board to round the bottom two corners. Figure 2 is what your project should look like at this point in time. Next, take paper snips and cut off the "points" at the top (fig. 3).

I used the Project Life by Stampin' Up! corner rounder to round the corners of the "lid" of my jar. Glue the lid to the jar, making sure that the tops are flush. You will then use your paper snips to trim the jar around the lid. (That will make sense when you see it glued together).

You have now completed your jar and can embellish and use it as you please! These would make great tags or bookmarks as well!

Other Stampin' Up! products used include:
  • Rose Red cardstock
  • Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper (the background and the lid)
  • Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper (the jar)
  • Daffodil Delight ink (with a sponge dauber)
  • Simply Wonderful stamp set
  • Rose Red ink
  • Whisper White card stock
  • Scallop Oval punch
  • Gold Baker's Twine
  • Bitty Butterfly punch
  • Basic Pearls

#ssinkcs19: Card Sketch

Last Friday was Employee Appreciation Day. This month's card sketch at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration allowed me to make the perfect thank you cards for my employees that were quick, easy, and perfect for college students!

I was able to tailor each card to its specific recipient. I had to chuckle when one girl opened hers and said, "It's pink!" Like she hasn't realized that I know she's obsessed with anything pink!

Each card is stamped with the a greeting from the Simply Wonderful stamp set, which you can still earn free during Sale-A-Bration! The ink color from each card is the same as the card stock color listed under each card! The layer is Whisper White on all cards. Enjoy!

Featuring Simply Pressed Clay

I admit, I was really excited when the Simply Pressed Clay came out, and lately it's been hiding in the back of my craft cabinet. Today it resurfaced!

I knew I wanted to use that really cute bee that I hadn't inked up yet, and thought I'd go for a boy card this time. I have the flower and button molds...so buttons it was!

To get the shade that I did, I used 5 drops of Tempting Turquoise re-inker in this much clay:

That is a 1-3/4" circle that it's sitting on.

A few tips for getting your clay out of the molds: the more ink you add to the clay, the longer you have to let it sit. A few minutes in the freezer works wonders. I also let the clay dry out a little before putting it in the molds. However, when it got too dry, it didn't work well. Massaging it in my fingers moistened it just enough to make it work again. Also, I didn't even use 1/8" of the amount that I dyed. A little goes a LONG way!

Much like fingerprints, in my world, no two buttons are the same!
