#SSINKCC41 Color Challenge

I've been playing so much with new products lately, that for today's color challenge, I decided to focus on current products from the Annual Catalog that I haven't used in awhile.

The stamp set is Pretty Kitty. I colored the image with Blender Pens and the ink colors from the color challenge. The patterned paper is from the 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack.

Head over to Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration to see the other color challenge projects today, and then submit your own! Also, check back in a few hours for another Occasions sneak peek.

#SSINKCC37: A Color Challenge

Hello! Today the ladies at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration have a fun color challenge that can support fall or Christmas themes. I chose to go with Christmas, and used some fun new products from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

When I saw Cookie Cutter Christmas in the new holiday catalog, I just HAD to have it! The great thing is that it also has a coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. The best news? You can purchase them as a bundle and save 10%!

I wanted to do a Christmas card with the Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip, and Garden Green color combo. The bears are just too cute, but since I was using the punch, I had to improvise on the ears. I used the bow from the punch to create the ears.

#SSINKCC31: March Color Challenge

I might be biased, but I think this is a pretty awesome color challenge. If you think so too, you should play along with us at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration! If you don't blog, you can also post to Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, etc using #SSINKCC31.

I may or may not be a little behind on mailing out birthday cards, so I'm trying to get caught up. I love the font of the Happy Birthday in the new set, That Thing You Did. I also pulled out an old favorite that I haven't inked up in awhile, Blended Bloom. I embossed the flower with Winter White embossing powder using Versamark and my Heat Tool.

Of these three colors, Lost Lagoon is my favorite. To make the layer stand out a bit more, I used the Boho Chic textured impressions embossing folder. In addition to stamping the greeting in Rich Razzleberry classic ink on the Pink Pirouette card base, I also added three Rich Razzleberry Brights candy dots.

#SSINKCC30: Color Challenge

Greetings! As I type this it is nice and sunny outside, but I have a feeling that by the time you are reading this, the weather will have changed back to winter. Welcome to Kansas!

Today at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration we are featuring our monthly color challenge. These colors could be used for Valentine's, Spring, or anything your heart desires! I used them to create a Thinking of You card.

The details of this card are pretty straightforward and the product list is below. If you have any questions though, leave them in the comments below!

#SSINKCC27: Color Challenge

Is anyone else starting to have anxiety about Blackberry Bliss retiring next year? I really hope it shows up as a part of one of the color families in the near future! Our color challenge today features it, as well as Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.

Here is my first card of gratitude for November. It features the Work of Art stamp set, as well as the Watercolor Thank You. On my practice run, I stamped the swooshes perfectly, but on the actual project, no dice. Therefore, I grabbed my Stamp-a-majig so that they would be lined up and placed exactly where I wanted them!

#SSINKCC23: Color Challenge

This month's color challenge features another one of the 2015-2017 In Colors, Watermelon Wonder. Straight out of the pack, this is probably my least favorite color. However, when used with the right color combination, it actually becomes pretty fabulous!

I was so excited to use some new products on this card. The Lots of Labels framelits and the Happy Patterns Decorative Masks. This is the first time I've had a positive experience with the Sequin Trim, and I think it might be my favorite part of this card!

Make sure to check out more great creations inspired by my latest color challenge at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration. You can also play along with us on this week's challenge!

#SSINKCS22: Color Challenge

As I was creating this month's color challenge, I was thinking that I should come up with a masculine combination that we could also use for Father's Day. However, most of the cards that the Design Team created with this combination don't come across as masculine. I'd say that makes this a versatile color combination!

  • Night of Navy card base - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" - scored at 4-1/4"
  • Mint Macaron layer 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Kinda Eclectic stamp set
  • Night of Navy ink
  • Cajun Craze ink
  • Mint Macaron ink
  • Regals Buttons (Cajun Craze)
  • Regals Candy Dots (Night of Navy)
  • Very Vanilla cardstock
  • Banners Collection framelits

SSINKCC21: Color Challenge

Why hello there! Work and school have kept me beyond busy this last month; and left me with no free time for stamping. :( I'm back now! :)

This was a surprisingly easy to work with color combination. I had a workshop last weekend, so I used this combo to design my card around.

  • Whisper White card base - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" - scored at 4-1/4"
  • Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock - 4" x 5-1/4" (retiring)
  • Decorative Dots Embossing Folder
  • Regals Designer Series Paper Stack - Island Indigo (retiring)
  • Top Note Die (retiring)
  • Circles Collection Framelits
  • Starburst Sayings stamp set (retiring)
  • Starburst Framelits (retiring)
  • Petal Potpourri stamp set
  • Flower Medallion punch
  • 7/8" Scallop Circle punch
  • Regals Candy Dots
This is the variation that we made at the workshop. We simply replaced the candy dots with Basic Rhinestones. Attendees were also able to choose which flower they wanted to use out of the Petal Potpourri set.

We would LOVE to have you play along with us at SSINKspiration this week!

#ssinkcc19: Color Challenge

I made sure we featured the outgoing In Colors in our Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Design Team color challenges during the last few months before they retire. Last month we had Coastal Cabana (*shed a tear*), this month we've got Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar (*another tear*).

One of my co-workers in retiring in two short weeks (more tears), so I made this card for the office to sign for her.

  • Perfect Plum and Strawberry Slush layers - 2-1/2" x 5" - embossed with Fancy Fan folder
  • Lullaby DSP - 2-3/4" x 8"
  • Work of Art stamp set
  • Hello Life stamp set
  • Strawberry Slush ink (stamped off)
  • Perfect Plum ink
  • Squares Collection framelits

#SSINKCC18 - Color Challenge

When I started creating color combinations for our monthly challenges, I wanted to make sure that we used all of Stampin' Up!'s colors before I started repeating any of them. These were the last three colors that I had left to use. I thought it was going to be weird, but when I started working with these colors, they actually complement each other really well!

Here is the card that I had a blast making!

I used a whole lot of emboss resist today! The background paper is the fabulous Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper that you can get for FREE during Sale-A-Bration! You get 12 sheets of DSP that is all white and then you can color it however you like. In this case I sponged it with Tangelo Twist ink. There are six different embossed designs with it.

I stamped the Watercolor Thank You stamp on Whisper White card stock with Versamark ink and then embossed it with the Clear Embossing Powder. Then I sponged over it with Coastal Cabana ink. I finished it off with two white Candy Dots from the Neutrals pack. Voila, there you have it. Quick, easy and colorful!

Please check out what the other designers did with this fun color combo. We'd also love to have you play along with our challenge if you're so INKspired.

#ssinkcc16 Color Challenge

This is perhaps one of my favorite color combos. What do you think?

Last week I wanted to make a card with Cheerful Christmas, but couldn't find it. (Abby knocked off the table behind a bag.) Today I wanted to use Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. I finally found it under another bag. I'm happy to report that my stamp table does actually have a flat surface on top and I can once again see it, along with all the carpet under and around said table. Any other cluttered stampers out there?

  • Lost Lagoon, Basic Black, and Very Vanilla cardstocks
  • Cheerful Christmas stamp set
  • Cherry Cobbler ink
  • VersaMark ink
  • Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge

I used this month's color challenge to create a card for a dear friend. She's had a rough year, so I got her a special present and, of course, needed a card to go along with it. The "Count Your Blessings" from Gratitude for Days (new in the Holiday Catalog) seemed like the perfect sentiment.

This card also features the butterflies from Kinda Eclectic, as well as a Hello Honey print from the Lullaby DSP.
