Convention Display Board Day 1

Stampin' Up! chose the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration as one of the Design Teams to create a display board for Inspire.Create.Share 2014, which is this year's Convention theme! Our team decided that we would each pick a stamp set and then create four different samples feature that set. I chose Groovy Love.

This was the first card I created, and one of my favorites. The color inspiration came from Elegant Wedding Invites. I embossed a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Early Espresso cardstock with the Polka Dot Textured Embossing Folder and mounted it on an Early Espresso base.

The heart outline stamped on the Lost Lagoon cardstock is from the Groovy Love set. I mixed 10 drops of the Lost Lagoon reinker with some rubbing alcohol in a Stampin' Spritzer and used it to color the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I LOVE this glimmer paper, because we can literally now create any color of glimmer paper! Once the paper was dry, I used the heart from the Circle Card Thinlits Die to cut my hearts.
I used Sticky Strip and the Gold Sequin Trim to create the "arrows." The "Mr. & Mrs." from Label Love was embossed on Lost Lagoon with Early Espresso embossing powder.

The second card I made features my favorite image from the Groovy Love set; the zebra stripes. I embossed the Hearts and "Groovy Kind of Love" in White on Night of Navy Cardstock. Then I used the Rich Razzleberry and Coastal Cabana Blendabilities to color on top of the embossing. I mounted this 3" x 3" layer on a piece of 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" Rich Razzleberry Cardstock. I added four of the Coastal Cabana Heart Sequins from the 2013-2015 In Color Sequins.

Here is a better picture of them:

Please check out the other designer's cards today at SSINK, and stop by tomorrow when I will showcase the other two cards I made for the board.

  1. i really like how you used the sequins across the hearts on the first card. Using the Blendabilities on the embossed images on the second card really makes them pop. Excellent work my friend :)
