Q&E

It's time for Q&E! That would be Quick & Easy.

There's nothing quicker than slapping some washi tape on a piece of cardstock! In fact, the thing that took the most time was stamping the flowers. However, thanks to the stamp-a-majig, it was easy to get them lined up.

Another Thank You photopolymer is getting a workout from me this week! My Petite Petals stamp set arrived last week, so I knew I wanted to get some ink on it. The coordinating punch has been so popular that it's on backorder, but I'm hoping to have it in a couple weeks so I can play with this set some more. I've got some fun ideas brewing; I'm just waiting for the punch because I don't really want to fussy cut these flowers. ;)

Limited Edition alert: The pink washi tape is from the Gingham Garden set. It is on the retirement list and only available while supplies last. You can purchase it before it's gone by clicking the image below.

Spring Flowers

I recently participated in a Secret Bunny Swap with some of the other demonstrators that are part of the Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop. My recipient said her favorite colors are blues, purples, and peaches, so I used that as a challenge to make this card for her.

I know the Calypso Coral isn't really a peach, but I was out of Crisp Cantaloupe at the time! I used the Burlap Ribbon (another favorite of hers) to simulate dirt under my grass. I love our new Fringe Scissors and really hope they carry over in to the new catalog in June! Stay tuned for a tips and tricks post regarding the fringe scissors.

The thing I love most about this card is the greeting. I don't know why I don't stamp on the DSP more often, as it gives a nice dimension to the card. Do you remember one of my goals for 2014? It was to use my neglected stamps more often. Mission accomplished on this one, as I rarely use Four Frames.

The "friend" stamp comes from Fabulous Phrases which is on the Stampin' Up! Retirement List chopping block.

For the Boys

Masculine Monday is the challenge du jour at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration. I decided to play along with this manly thank you card.

Stampin' Up!'s Soho Subway Designer Series Paper lends itself really well to masculine cards. I am hoping that we have an equally masculine DSP in the next catalog (which I'll find out tonight at the catalog premiere!). Both the Early Espresso ribbon and Soho Subway DSP are retiring, and are currently still available. Click the images below to order them before they are sold out.

I decided to keep the card simple since most of the men I know aren't in to frilly and over-the-top. The card went together very quickly because of this. The rectangle sizes are: 2" x 3-1/2", 2-1/2" x 4", and 3" X 4-1/2". The layers underneath each of them are just a quarter of an inch bigger than each one.

Please stop back in tomorrow. I have a much more girly card to share with you.

Friday Favorites

One of my favorite Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration posts each month is the Friday Favorites post. It's super easy because I can pick a card I made recently, decide what my favorite part is, and voila, I'm done!

Speaking of "voila, I'm done;" that's about how long it took me to make this card! I found a similar idea on PINterest. I edited it a bit to make it my own and to make sure it was easy for me to mail.

Starburst Sayings was one of those stamp sets that just didn't do much for me in the catalog. Then I kept seeing cute things made with it. I finally broke down and bought it and now it is definitely one of my top 3 favorites!

Thank You

Today I wanted to share with you a quick and easy Thank You card that I made recently.

This card features the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper that is retiring. The person I made this for likes purple, so I used almost all of our shades of purple; Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant.

Since I used Basic Black for the base, I added a piece of Very Vanilla on the inside. I also used the punched butterflies to embellish.

Tomorrow I will be sharing my Friday Favorites card. Any guesses as to what my favorite product is right now?

CASE a Catalog

Today at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration our goal was to CASE (copy & share everything) a project from one of the current Stampin' Up! catalogs. This idea caught my eye:

You can click on the catalog link to the left to view the whole catalog and find this project on page 75.

I had actually decided to use this idea before the retirement list was announced. I was sad to see that we have to say goodbye to the Woodgrain stamp; however I was happy that I had already decided to use it.

I love the Blue Denim Jean Ribbon, but haven't used it enough. I have to pull it out and use it as much as I can now that it's going away too! I thought that this would make a good anniversary card since it's not completely girly!

The retiring lists are only available while supplies last or June 4th, whichever comes first. Some items have already sold out! You can click below to order your favorites before they are gone. Make sure to list Darcy Johnson as your demonstrator. ;)
